We are disappointed to report that our company name is once again being used in an online scam which mimics the one reported at the end of 2023. 

This scam involves persons overseas in Australia and the Philippines being offered employment as Payment Security Assistants for a company that pretends to be Tidal. Contact is often made by some one named Daniel Whiting who claims to be our HR manager - no such person exists at Tidal Financial Services. 

I need to reiterate that no such role exists at Tidal Financial Services Ltd, and neither do we handle our clients money or make payments or fund transfers in anyway, shape or form. It is our opinion that the position being offered is illegal activity to facilitate money laundering using illicit funds and/or crypto.

I am pleased to advise that the fraudulent website has now been removed and is no longer accessible, although a basic inactive link may still appear in search. Thanks to the FMA and Netsafe for assisting with this matter and working to remove those who impersonate genuine businesses online.

It is with much frustration that we need to report to you that Tidal has been subjected to a imposter website fraud. An unauthorised person that has no connection to Tidal Financial Services Ltd has setup website www.tidalfs.com which uses our company name, registered office address and financial adviser / director credentials (many of which are false or misleading). 

You may see this website ranked beside our genuine www.tidalfs.co.nz website on Google. Please be mindful of which website you are viewing if searching for our site. Only click on the .co.nz site. 

Furthermore, an email account using the name daniel.whiting@tidalfs.com is indiscriminately contacting members of the public in Australia with a job offer to work as a Payment Security Assistant for Tidal Financial Services. This job offer reports to have identified the candidates from jobsite Seek. The job, use of our company name and address, and all associated links in the email have absolutely no connection to Tidal Financial Services Ltd and should be considered to be highly suspicious in its intent and nature. I caution against engaging with the individual behind the job offer and recommend reporting any unsolicited approaches to the appropriate internet regulators in your region.
